They might just another by-election followed by the death of an MLA. But its has been not the same in Dubbaka which turned crucial for all major political parties in the state. While the high-voltage came to an end on Sunday evening, all eyes are now on the polls which are going to be held on Tuesday.
As the ruling TRS had an easy win in both 2018 and 2014 with journalist-turned-politician Ramalinga Reddy in fray, things this year turned difficult with neck-to-neck competition from BJP which has been strengthening roots in Telangana.
BJP has taken it as a prestige issue to ensure the party wins this election as it has been the first election for Bandi Sanjay G Kishan Reddy assumed office as state BJP Chief and Union Cabinet as MoS Home respectively. TRS, on the other hand, resorted all possible political strategies to bag the win.
Banking on the sympathy votings, the party has fielded late MLA Ramalinga Reddy’s wife Solipeta Sujatha as their candidate. While the district cadre is affirmative over an easy win, it was learnt that the high command is making Plan-B ready as well.
Party sources confirmed that high command is contemplating on making major re-shuffle which includes changing the portfolio of ministers like Etala Rajender, Gangula Kamalakar and Harish Rao. Possibilities of KCR’s daughter and newly-elected MLC K Kavitha getting a cabinet berth is speculated to be the other reason. One has to wait and see for November 10 election counting to known TRS’ fortune.
