The health condition of former President Pranab Mukherjee continues to be critical while the hospital authorities confirmed that the leader is still on ventilator support.
According to the health bulletin released by the Army’s Research and Referral hospital on Tuesday, though there is no change in Pranab Mukherjee’s health condition, his vital parameters are stable.
The 84-year-old former President underwent the surgery to remove a clot in his brain after he suffered a fall at his Rajaji Marg residence and he has been in coma since then. He was also tested coronavirus-positive. Ever since the surgery, Pranab continued to survive with on ventilator support amidst which rumours that the former President breathed his last floated.
Addressing the speculation and fake news, Pranab Mukherjee’s son Abhijit Mukherjee on Thursday stated that his father is still alive and “haemodynamically” stable. Sharmistha Mukherjee, Pranab Mukherjee’s daughter and National Spokesperson AICC also refuted the rumours about his father.
Revealing that his tests turned positive, Pranab Mukherjee who served as India’s president between 2012 and 2017 in a tweet urged people who came in contact with him in the last week to get tested and self isolate themselves.
On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID19 today.
