Ministers CS Somesh Kumar and DGP Mahender Reddy visited the areas surrounding the Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara, which will be held in February. After that, the surroundings of Jampanna Vaagu and the bathing areas were examined. They also inspected the Chilakalugutta, RTC bus stand, toilets, drinking water supply, parking arrangements.
Ministers and officials inspected the fairgrounds through an aerial view. Ministers Indira Reddy, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, and Satyavathi Rathore inspected the work of the Medaram Maha Jatara. The ministers then held a review with the authorities on the workings of the fair asked the officers about the progress of the works.
The time is approaching for the Maha Jatara of the tribal deities Sammakka and Saralammala. The fair will be held for four days from the 16th of next month. Already millions of devotees are going to Medaram and paying for the plants in advance. However .. the government is spending crores of rupees .. making arrangements for the devotees to come for the fair.
Devotees from all over the Telugu states as well as Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Jharkhand flock to the Sammakka Saralamma Jatara, which is held for four days from the Magha Shuddha Full Moon. Officials say the number of devotees attending the fair, which is steeped in tribal culture and traditions, is on the rise.
