Launching a blistering attack on BJP and its supremo Narendra Modi, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday breathed fire addressing the crowd at “Bharat Bachao Rally” (Save India Rally) in New Delhi. Taking to the rally called by Congress to voice against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act, Ramlila ground shook with slogans against Modi-led government. Known for her timely potshots, Priyanka Gandhi has made sensational comments which are now trending on various social media platforms. She urged the people to raise their voice and fight back against the BJP and its litany of injustices. “If you love your nation, please raise your voice. If we remain silent today, we need to see more and more destruction. The division of the country will start and we will all be as responsible for this division as any corrupt leader of the BJP and the RSS,” she said.
Taking a dig at BJP’s slogan ‘Modi hai to mumkin hai’ (Everything is possible with Modi), Priyanka said “Onion is selling at Rs 100 per kg, unemployment is at 45-year high, economy is in doldrums, Navratna PSUs are being sold, Indian Railways is being privatised and 15,000 farmers have committed suicide. The above are possible under Modi government only.” The 47-year-old Congress leader also spoke about the case of a rape victim in Unnao who was set ablaze and later died while undergoing treatment. “My father’s blood is in this soil just as the blood of the Unnao victim. It is our moral duty to save our women,” she added. Party President Sonia Gandhi and young leader Rahul Gandhi and many other Congress leaders joined the rally against the Modi-led government.
