His efforts to prove his innocence went in vain as actor Prudhvi Raj was asked to resign for the chairmanship of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam’s Sri Venkateswara Bhakti channel on Sunday. Followed by the protests sparked with the leaked audiotape which allegedly have the voice of Prudhvi and a women employee, the SVBC employees union and BJP leader Bhanu Prakash and TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy demanded Prudhvi Raj’s resignation. Heeding to the pressures even from ruling YSRCP, the actor-turned-politician has reportedly resigned to the post.
However, Prudhvi took to a media meet at Somajiguda press club to condemn the allegations on him. Claiming that it was not his voice in the audio clip, he stated that he has utmost respect towards women. “I am deeply anguished. Oppositions and a few people have deliberately put up fake audios to bring me down,” he said. Prudvi also stated that he is ready to face any kind of enquiry regarding the same. On the other hand, TTD authorities have ordered a probe on into an audiotape with pressures from various women welfare. organisations.
