Heated speeches…direct targeting and potshots…communal references, the GHMC poll campaigning like never before gabbed the national parities’ attention while all the main leaders already reached to Hyderabad. With the campaigning for the most-hyped polls reaching its final stage, the political heat raised on Saturday with PM Narendra Modi’s visit.
While the campaigning coming to an end by Sunday 5 PM, all the parties fielding their candidates across the 150 wards intensified their roadshows and public meetings from the past few hours. As the candidates from other areas will have to leave the city after 5 pm tomorrow, the last two days i.e, Saturday and Sunday turned crucial for the candidates.
Unlike previous local polls, this time elections have only 15 days between the election commission releasing the notification and polling owing to the pandemic. With which, all the parties TRS and BJP fielded all the crucial leaders in campaigning.
The BJP has already roped in its senior and national party leaders to campaign for the election including its national president JP Nadda who conducted a roadshow in Hyderabad on Friday. TRS supremo, on the other hand, is organising a massive public meeting today at LB Stadium in Hyderabad.
The war-of-words between the leaders took the peak turn with AIMIM and BJP in specific. Bringing Rohingyas and Pakistani residents in the city, BJP state unit president Bandi Sanjay challenged they would win the polls and declare surgical strike on Old City after they assume the office.
