Yet again the schools and colleges in New Delhi remained shut. Hot mix plants and stone crushers are ordered to be closed – which is not a good sign for the residents of the nation’s capital. But this came good news for entrepreneur Aryavir Kumar. As the pollution levels peaked to hazardous levels despite the citizen suffocating, Aryvir’s business breathed profits. A number of customers queued up at the ‘Oxy Pure’ to take a whiff of oxygenated air with a fragrance of peppermint, orange, cinnamon, eucalyptus, lavender, spearmint or lemongrass.
Claimed to be a first of its kind, ‘Oxy Pure’ is an oxygen bar started in South Delhi with a vision to offer purified oxygen with people suffering from jet lag, sleep disorders, and hangovers. However, with the air quality index (AQI) in the city reaching 412, Aryavir’s start-up struck gold with the citizen eager to breath fresh air. With the increasing demand, ‘Oxy Pure’ started people-friendly sessions starting at Rs 299 and go up to Rs 499 for 15 minutes. Once the customer enters the spa, 95% pure oxygen is given to them with the help of cannula under their nostrils. After the sessions, the customers claim to feel light and rejuvenated and are even heading back with a packaged bottle of ultra-portable oxygen sold for Rs 650. With reaping profits, Aryavir is on his way to start two new branches.
