In yet another shock to the Chief Minister Jagan, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) court on Sunday has summoned the YRSCP supremo to appear him before it on January 11 in connection with a quid pro quo case.
Along with the state CM, AP Vijay Sai Reddy, retired IAS officer BP Acharya, Hetero Group of companies’ director M Srinivasa Reddy, Aurobindo Pharma managing director K Nityananda Reddy and Trident Life Sciences’ former managing director P Sharat Chandra Reddy, were also asked to appear before the court for the hearing.
The CMO is yet to confirm the CM’s attendance to the court hearing while the charge sheet in the case was earlier filed before the Nampally Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s (MSJ) court in 2016, it has been shifted to the special court for Central Bureau of India (CBI) and ED cases.
To recall, CBI alleged that Quid Pro Quo was involved in land allotments to Aurobindo pharma and Hetero drugs in the Special Economic Zone-SEZ at Jedcharla, Telangana. The companies are were accused of investing ₹27.25 crores in Jagathi Publications, the media house floated by Jagan.
All the petitions filed against the orders of the Appellate Tribunal are pending in the Telangana High Court.
