For the last few years, we have seen a number of gigantic statues made across the country. Starting from the Statue of Unity in Gujarat, to the recent Ramanujacharya statue in Hyderabad, there are mixed stories going viral on the Internet. The most important of all is the basis of those who actually manufactured, supplied materials for the statue.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi lashed out at the Center talking about the same issue. He extensively criticized the government’s Atmanirbhar scheme, calling it flawed from the base level. He straight on took it out on the Ramanujacharya statue, popularly called as Statue of Equality. Connecting it with the Atmanirbhar scheme initiated by PM Modi.
On a shocking note, Rahul Gandhi went on making some sensational comments on the Statue of Ramanjucharya, stating that the statue set up in Hyderabad is made in China. He satirically asked if ‘New India means China Nirbhar’ (depending on China?). Just during the previous week, Rahul Gandhi took a dig at PM Modi’s foreign policy. He called the policy a thread that is bringing Pakistan and China on the same board.
As per the sources, and the website of the project, the Statue of equality is made of panchalohas (five precious metals). The idol was unveiled by Prime Minister Modi, and it is located at Munchinthal, Shamshabad. According to the project website, the 216-foot Ramanujacharya statue in Hyderabad was made by a Chinese corporation. It is well known that in the year 2015, the China-based Aeroson Corporation won a Rs 135 crore Statue contract in India, it is believed that Rahul Gandhi’s comments are related to this aspect.
