In the verge of condemning the recent comments made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, BJP leaders ended up adjourning the Lok Sabha proceedings. Followed by the ruckus over Union Minister Harsh Vardhan’s remarks on Rahul Gandhi’s Danda(stick) comments, the speaker adjourned the house till Monday. It is to the known knowledge that during a rally for the Delhi Assembly polls, the Rahul Gandhi had reportedly said that “youth would beat Modi with sticks over the lack of jobs”. Upon which the Health Minister chose to read a statement condemning the comments instead of answering the Opposition’s questions.
Snubbing the repeated urges made by the Speaker Om Birla to stick to his answer, the BJP leader continued to read out his statement condemning the comments Rahul had made against the PM. Meanwhile, a few of the Congress members crowded around the speaker’s chair shouting slogans against Harsh Vardhan, while BJP MPs started preventing the Congress leaders from reaching the well. However, Harsha Vardhan didn’t stop reading out the statement which said – “Rahul’s father was a Prime Minister too. I don’t think in the worst case our party leaders have ever made such outlandish personal remarks threatening to beat with dandas (sticks) and throwing out of the country.”
After repeated disruptions, the speaker adjourned the house till Monday. Followed by which both the BJP and Congress leaders took to their respective social media handles to continue the war of words.
