‘Egmore Metropolitan Magistrate Court issuing a non-bailable warrant against ‘Robo’ director Shankar’, this is the news that has been circulating on Tamil Nadu media and all social media channels of late. According to the reports, the warrant was issued after Shankar failed to appear for the hearings several times.
Into details, a writer Arur Tamilnadan had accused the maker of copying his story titled ‘Jiguba’. The writer has accused the makers of copying his story and making Aishwarya – Rajinikanth starrer Enthiran in 2010. The writer has filed a case on the violation of the Copyright Act, 1957.
While Shankar chose to remain mum over the accusations so far, the director finally broke his silence on Tuesday. Issuing an official statement, the director confirmed that there is no such warrant issued against him. The director also stated that his advocate Mr Sai Kumaran has approached the Court and brought this false report to the Court’s attention.
It can be noted that ‘Robo’ starring Rajinikanth and Aishwarya emerged as a massive blockbuster. The film even went on to win two National Awards – one for Best Special Effects and one for Best Production Design.
