In a step what came out in defence of Modi government over the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act(CAA), Superstar Rajinikanth on Wednesday stated that the act brings no harm to Muslims in the country. With the statement, the actor who is all set for the political debut has joined the bandwagon of celebrities who backed the Modi-led government’s CAA move. Talking to the media, Rajini made his stand clear over the act assuring that it will not affect any citizen of our country. “If it affects Muslims, then I will be the first person to stand up for them,” he assured.
On this note, the South-Indian Superstar accused certain political parties of instigating people against CAA for their selfish interests. Stating that violence and rioting cannot be a way to find a solution to any issue, Rajini urged the students to hold protests only after analysing the subjects and discussing with their professors. “NPR is a necessity to find out about the outsiders. It has been clarified that NRC has not been formulated yet,” Rajinikanth said.
In the wake of rumours that Rajini would soon join hands with BJP, these statements made by Thalaiva added strength to the political speculations. However, the actor recently shocked everyone saying that attempts to smear him with BJP colour won’t work. On the other hand, a section of political analysts opined that Rajini would join hands with his long term colleague Kamal Haasan.
