Ahead of assembly polls in 2021, Tamil Nadu politics at once heated up with South Indian Superstar Rajinikanth making the most awaited announced over his political entry.
While the actor who is known for his philanthropic and spiritual side stated that he would make a key announcement on December 31st, inside information has it that Rajini would launch the name and party symbol the big day.
As Thalaiva has been holding a slew of extensive meeting with soon-to-be-launched party’s chief coordinator Arjunamurthy and Tamilaruvi Maniyan over the party logo and flag, social media on Tuesday buzzed with news that Rajnikanth has registered the name and symbol for his party.
The latest update is that Rajnikanth has registered the name Makkal Sevai Katchi in the election commission and that they’ll contest with a symbol which has his signature ‘two-finger’ pose and autorickshaw.
Sources at the state election commission on Monday revealed that an applicant with Rajinikanth’s name has sought the above-mentioned symbol and party name.
It can be noted that the party name was already used, but was an unrecognised one which was originally registered as Anaithindhia Makkal Shakthi Kazhagam. But the name was later changed to Makkal Sevai Katchi through an amended Election Commission notification that was issued two and a half months back.
The application for the symbol mentioned the party’s intention to contest all the 234 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu. The party may be allowed the auto symbol as the two-finger symbol bears resemblance to the hand symbol of the Indian National Congress.
