While the Valentines vibes are all around, industrialist and social media favourite Ratan Tata poured his heart out about his heart-wrenching breakup. Like never before the former Tata group chairman revealed the reasons behind his break up on the eve of Valentines Day. In an exclusive interview with Humans of Bombay, Ratan also peeked into his parents’ divorce and the good old times he shared with his grandmother.
Pinning a couple of his throwback pictures, Ratan Tata also shared a long written note through his social media handles of how the 1962 India-China War ended his relationship which was on the verge of getting married. “It was in LA that I fell in love and almost got married. But at the same time, I had made the decision to move back at least temporarily since I had been away from my grandmother who wasn’t keeping too well for almost 7 years,” he said. He then confronted that their relationship fell apart as her parents weren’t okay with her making the move anymore with 1962 India-China War going on.
Though he didn’t mention the reasons behind his bachelorhood, Ratan who later rose into a revolutionary business tycoon spilled enough bean that his first relation left an everlasting mark on his heart. He also shared about his parents’ divorce and the trauma he went through when he was at the age of 10. Ratan Tata and his brother then lived with their grandmother Navajbai Tata, with whom he shares close affinity. However, Ratan said that he had a lovely childhood and credited his grandmother for instilling the values in him.
