Hyderabad: Media legend and TV9 founder Ravi Prakash has expressed his support from Chanchalguda jail for the RTC employees who are on indefinite strike. He had sent a message to all the journalists to raise voice against the atrocities of the government and walk hand-in-hand with the employees’ protests. He stated that the legitimate media stands with employees who are fighting for their long-standing goals.
“A few media house are busy reporting against the RTC workers. Some of the journalists are working as slaves for government spreading news that the strike has fizzled out letting down the spirit of 49,000 employees. Today, RTC workers are fighting for a better society risking their lives, and state government, on the other hand, is ready to entrust the organisation into the hands of private contractors who only yearn for profits.
The story began with Goldstone Prasad who illegally acquired about 26 thousand acres of land in the city. We are all aware that he was caught acquiring another 10,000 acres in Miyapur. Under the name of Olextra Green Tech, Prasad is lobbying with Megha Krishna Reddy to acquire the electric bus contract in partnership with a China-based company. Governments plan to get rid of about 50 thousand RTC employees is the stepping stone for the private invasion in RTC.
I am joining the fight right from the prison. The victory of these RTC workers should be a tight slap for the traitor who wants to destroy democracy,” read his message.
