Tender for the construction of Rs 600 crore-new secretariat in Telangana has been finalised. While the major realty companies like Tata Projects, Larsen and Toubro (L&T), Mumbai-based JMC projects and Uttar Pradesh Project Ltd are in the fray for the prestigious Rs 600 crore contract, Shapoorji Pallonji bag the mega project on Wednesday.
According to the tender contract, the secretariat building which will be constructed in 7 lakh square feet in an area of 2 acres spread around is directed to be completed within a span of one year. The remaining 25 acres will be allowed for landscaping, parking and other facilities.
The Dharma Chakra Stupa of Ashoka which is the symbol of continuing progress and the importance of justice in life is planned to be erected in the middle portion of the construction.
While the building will have 15 storeys, the Chief Minister’s Office and other prominent head offices will be on the sixth floor. The new complex will be an amalgamation of historic architecture and modern technology reflecting the rich culture and tradition of Telangana.
