Famous Telugu lyricist Vennelakanti Rajeswara Prasad who is also known for his work as dialogue writer passed away in Chennai on Tuesday following a massive heart attack.
Dearly called as ‘Vennelakanti’, the 63-year-old lyricist wrote as many as 2,000 songs. Spanning over three decades, Vennelakanti rose to fame with films like Aditya 369, Gharana Bullodu, Gharana Bullodu, and Samarasimha Reddy.
A native of Nellore City, he is survived by his wife Prameela and sons Shashank Mouli and Rakendu Mouli. Vennelakanti’s eldest son Shashank Vennelakanti is also a well-known lyricist in Telugu film industry.
Tollywood celebrities and political leaders flooded social media with condolence messages. The final rites of Vennelakanti will take place in Chennai on Wednesday.
