For the first time in years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken about the formation of Telangana in the parliament. His comments drew quite polarizing views in the political fraternity. TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy expressed quite an amount of angst against PM’s comments. He went on to say that Modi doesn’t deserve to be in the position of a Prime Minister, he demanded the resignation of Union Minister Padavi Kishan Reddy as a means to protest against the state separation comments made by the Prime Minister. He publicly demanded an unconditional apology from Modi to the people of Telangana.
Talking about the parliamentary session, Revanth mentioned that Modi had spoken on a number of issues in addition to those included in the President’s speech. Revanth said that he expected the PM to do justice to the people of Telangana through the budget allocation. Revanth opines that a man at the Prime Minister position like Modi shouldn’t speak nonsense about a state, and must not have caste, creed, or regional differences. He urged the PM to look at the way previous Prime ministers like Nehru and Manmohan Singh spoke about the states and regions.
Revanth further criticized Modi saying that the PM does not have respect for the legislature and parliament. He satirically said that Modi didn’t accomplish the prime minister position through his revolutionary movements, but the strategies and tricks. He recalled the time 1999 when BJP came to power, saying that if BJP had done justice to Telangana back then, the state wouldn’t have lost 1200 people to the cause of the formation of Telangana.
PM Modi should apologize to #Telangana people on behalf of BJP for delaying statehood & thereby leading to the sacrifices of hundreds of lives.
BJP promised One Vote,Two States & came to power in 1999,but failed To give Telangana.Instead three other states were given statehood. pic.twitter.com/N2KC86TCIx

Revanth said that the states of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand were formed after the BJP came to power in 1999. He questioned the then government on not supporting the formation of the Telangana state. Appreciating Sonia Gandhi on backing the state formation, Revanth said that she put aside the tactics of Andhra leaders and successfully led the formation of the Telangana state. Revanth concluded that the state separation process was legitimate and rightfully done only after re-examining and interpreting the Andhra Pradesh Redistribution Act.
