TPCC chief Rewanth Reddy alleged that the police had disrupted their peaceful rally on the central government’s orders. KCR was criticized for trying to appease Narendra Modi through this. He was arrested during the “Chalo Raj Bhavan” program and spoke to the media after his release. He was incensed that the state government had launched attacks on the Congress ranks to appease the Center.
Revanth questioned where KCR and KTR would have been if the then Congress government had acted like this during the Telangana movement. Modi and KCR have been criticized for being on the same path. On Friday, he called on the party ranks to take up the concerns at district centers and government offices in protest of the attacks on the Congress ranks. He accused the police of attacking democratic protests and transforming them into tense.
Talking about the events, Revanth said it was sad that Renuka Chaudhary, who was falling down during the protest, was holding the SI, and the same was portrayed as an attack against which cases were filed. They demanded that the cases against the Congress leaders be dropped immediately. Police have warned that the government will have to change its ways or face public outcry.
He stated that harassing Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi in the name of the ED trial is absolutely clueless. He accused the Modi government of harassing them with closed cases and sidelining public issues. He alleged that the Center was harassing top Congress leaders to intimidate regional parties and that he was conspiring to gain the upper hand in the Rajya Sabha elections. Talking about the other side of the coin, the TPCC spokesperson Kiran Kumar Chamisa, who was hospitalized after being injured in a police baton charge, was visited by Revanth Reddy. He wished Kiran Kumar a quick recovery.
