TPCC chief Rewanth Reddy wants KCR to answer why the waqf board chairman was not yet removed. Arriving in Hyderabad after concluding his US tour, he was warmly welcomed by Congress leaders and activists. Mettu Saikumar, state president of the Congress Fisheries Department, presented a big fish to Rewanth on the occasion of Margashira Karte. Revanth greeted the media at Gandhi Bhavan on this occasion.
Reminded that the Governor has omnipotence in the twin cities under Section-8. He went on to say that she can also take over the administration if necessary, adding that KCR needs to act responsibly, and it’s not just enough to be politically powerful. He made it clear that the Constitution would do its work itself when not taking responsibility. Revanth Reddy’s speech on Section 8 has gained prominence in Telangana politics at this time. He said that despite the atrocities against women, the Telangana government was not responding and the governor should use her powers to rectify everything as there was no active government in the state.
Section 8 of the AP Redistricting Act has been incorporated with a view to safeguarding the citizens of the joint capital Hyderabad during the partition of the State. Accordingly, the Governor is responsible for peacekeeping, internal security, protection of key institutions, management of government offices, and allocations in the Commonwealth. The TRS government has been opposed to the mention of Section 8 on several occasions in the past. This is because if Section 8 is implemented the key elements in the GHMC will fall under the purview of the Governor. That would be embarrassing for TRS. Revanth, who recently reacted to the minor girl incident, is now talking once again about the section, which currently has become a hot topic.
Revanth said that there is no use even if the governor complaints to PM Modi, as both Modi and Amit Shah listen to KCR only. He said that if the TRS fielded its own candidate in the presidential election, he would think the party is against Modi, otherwise everyone would understand that the TRS would be in favor of the BJP. He also said that the BJP and TRS would be friends even if they boycotted the polls. He lashed out at KCR calling him a financial te*rorist. Revanth said that we are facing difficulties due to a lack of financial discipline in the state.
