As predicted, the Dalita Girijana Atmagourava Dandora public meeting organized by TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy turned into a grand success, reported political circles. Besides boosting the morale of the Congress state cadre, the meeting sent political tremors in TRS circles.
The meeting held on September 17th, the Telangana Liberation Day was deliberately scheduled in TRS president and Chief Minister K.Chandrashekhar Rao’s home constituency Gajwel. Facing all odds from the ruling TRS party, the meeting was attended by scores of voters in the constituency. Reports have it that nearly 2 lakh attended the meeting, while the Congress cadre anticipated not less than 1 lakh attendees.
Breathing fire on the ruling party and its supremo, Revanth Reddy on Friday questioned KCR for not fulfilling the promise of CM post to Dalit. He also questioned why the TRS government failed in providing three acres to Dalits. He demanded an increase in the Arogyasri limit to Rs 5 lakh and the introduction of a full reimbursement scheme.
Announcing that the party would launch ‘Nirudyoga Dharma Yuddam’ (unemployment struggle) from October 2, Reddy exhorted the youth to join the fight for jobs. Former TPCC president and Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Bhuvanagiri MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy did not attend the public meeting.
