Condemning the brutal murder of MRO Vijaya Reddy, employees of Telangana Revenue Employees Services Association (TRESA) staged protests across the state on Tuesday. Wearing black ribbons, the employees boycotted their duties paying homage to their colleague who lost her life on-duty. In Hyderabad, the staff staged a sit-in before the Collectorate chanting slogans against Chief Minister KCR.
In the wake of negative propaganda made by a few of TRS political leaders and government heads against the Revenue employees, the latter demanded KCR to make a public apology and to issue a statement to redeem the employees’ credibility. This came hours after the Chief Minister made accusations that the entire Revenue Department is corrupt which in turn led to the brutal murder. “KCR has openly made a statement instigating the people against us. We are now under complete threat,” said an MRO who is on the protest. One of the TRESA leaders demanded police protection to discharge their responsibilities properly.
