Be it the crazy Vijays’ combination, Pongal holidays or the fact that Thalapaty fans are badly missing his on-screen presence, the highly-anticipated film, ‘Master’ which was released on Wednesday in Telugu states opened to jam-packed halls.
Despite the COVID protocols and the miscreants leaking the pirated version online, the first day shows opened to a bang at the box-office. As all the advanced bookings witnessed housefuls, some places saw fans ending up in long queues snubbing social distancing.
‘Master’ being the first big-budgeted film which was released after the theatres open after almost a year shutdown, the industry looked up to the movie for further releases. Coming to the movie, Vijay played the role of JD, an alcoholic professor who will be sent to a juvenile home run by deadly gangster Bhavani (Vijay Sethupathi).
Can’t even describe how ecstatic it feels to be back at a theatre after waiting for a whole year, and what’s even better? It’s for #Master 🔥

The film revolves around JD quitting alcohol and fighting against Bhavani who has been building a shady empire by using the juvenile criminals for his heinous activities. Though the film stood as a blockbuster in Tamil, it somehow didn’t go well with Telugu audience.
Besides the action-packed scenes which elevated the film, the second half of the film ends abruptly, without any high moment. It is more of a one-man show while Vijay dragged the film on his shoulder. Social media trend #MasterDisaster explained it all with fizzled out fans taking to social media to vent their disappointment.
