Chennai Super Kings(CSK) has been one of the favourite teams in IPL format while Skipper Dhoni and Suresh Raina’s duo is one of the prime reasons.
Referred to as ‘Chinna Thala’ by his South Indian fans, Suresh Raina’s decision to pull out of IPL 2020 has not only came as a thunderous shock to crores of fans but also caught the CSK management by surprise.
While ‘personal reasons’ is quoted as the reason behind his abrupt decision, a number of speculations floated with ‘clash with MS Dhoni and CSK management’ being the latest.
Into details, according to N Srinivasan, CSK owner a potential ‘rift’ between Raina and MS Dhoni over the allotment of a hotel room is the main reason behind Raina bidding adieus to the 13th edition of IPL.
It was learnt that besides the room that he was provided which is not in pas with skipper Dhoni, Raina was also finding it difficult to cope with the stringent bio-security measures.
Further, Ajay Sethi, the Chairman of the Channel 2 Group confronted that getting concerned about his wife Priyanka and their two young children in the view of the pandemic.
The other reason which has been widely circulated on media is that members of Raina’s extended family were attacked on August 19, in Pathankot in northern India. While the cricketer is yet to respond on the issue, Sources confirmed that Raina willingly gave up a salary of 11 crores this season.
