In a horrifying incident of Honor killing in Telangana, the alleged kidnap and murder of a newlywed groom Hemanth set shockwaves in Hyderabad on Friday. According to the statement given by Dontireddy Avanti Reddy, wife of Hemanth, around 15 members of Avanti’s family arrived at her house and whisked the couple away.
On receiving the complaint the Gachibowli police registered a kidnap case and took up investigation. Hours after which, the special teams found Hemanth’s body dumped in an isolated location at Kistaigudem village in Sangareddy district.
The case has been altered to murder case and 13 accused including the family members and contract killers have been arrested by the Cyberabad police. Further, breaking down the case, DCP Madhapur Venkateshwarulu stated that Avanti’s uncle Yugandhar Reddy hatched a plan to kill Hemanth with the help of a professional killer.
It was learnt that Yugandhar mediated between the professional killer and Avanti’s father Lakshama Reddy for supari of Rs 10 lakh. It was further revealed that Rs 7 lakh was given as an advance to two persons to kill Hemanth.
The arrested were Avanthi’s father Lakshma Reddy, uncle Yugandar Reddy, Sandeep Reddy, Ranjith Reddy, Rakesh Reddy, Vijendra Reddy, Santosh Reddy, Swapna, Rajitha, Spandana, Archana and driver Saheb Patel. The police also seized a Maruti Brezza, i20 and swift cars.
