In what can be called super-duper good news for the entire world, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that Covid-19 vaccine they have been developing completed Phase 2 trials.
Stating that the first domestic inoculation is ready for use, Deputy Defense Minister Ruslan Tsalikov announced that the second group of volunteers ended Phase 2 trials while everyone reportedly developed immunity from the coronavirus.
Phase-3 trials of the vaccines which are being developed by the Russian army in collaboration with state-run Gamaleya Institute in Moscow and the Russian Direct Investment Fund will begin by August 3rd.
While almost 10,000 people will be included in phase-3 trials, the army claimed that the distribution of the vaccine could start as early as September.
According to the local media reports, Russia could make 30 million doses domestically in 2020, and 170 million abroad, with five countries expressing interest in producing the vaccine.
