Protesting against the dismissal of 300 Safai karmacharis in Secunderabad Cantonment, workers in Secunderabad rallied under the auspices of All India Congress leaders to protest. Awareness has been expressed that those who have been pursuing garbage collection as a livelihood for the last twenty years are now unemployed and are ripped off their livelihood.
All party leaders Cantonment Vikas Munch president Sankey Ravinder, CITU city leaders Ishwar Rao, R Mallesh, and prominent lawyer Obulesh said they would stand by the workers. On this occasion, they said that they risked their lives to work even in bad conditions like Corona.
They added that the cantonment CEO should remember that as a result of the workers’ hard work alone, the state has received a reward from the center. He said that the ruthless dismissal of 300 workers who had been working for almost twenty or thirty years was a barbaric act. Nearly 1,200 family members who depend on them for their livelihood are now helpless.
They appealed for their decision to be withdrawn immediately. Demanded the immediate hiring of workers. They warned that all the people of the cantonment would make movements in support of them under the auspices of the non-existent left allies.
