Police, a representation of government who ought to uphold and enforce the law and order now turned into Kalnayaks a.k.a villains for citizen in the Kodangal constituency. Reports over increasing atrocities of the police in region has been welcoming sharp criticism, of late.
As per the reports, a few police officials who were said to be deputed upon the recommendation of local MLA Patnam Narender Reddy were allegedly ignoring their police duties to handle MLAs commissioned illegal activities. Numerous victims raised concerns over police turning servants for the ruling party leaders, targeting the opposition Congress leaders.
Situations are learnt to be gripping out of hands in Maddur and Kosgi police stations in Narayanpet district where Sub-inspectors and Circle inspector are dancing to the tunes of ruling leaders. While the atrocities amplified after Patnam Narender Reddy as Kodangal MLA assumed office, the district SP was allegedly turning a blind eye deliberately.
Complaints raised by Congress leaders from the constituency alleged that the MLA is charging commissions for illegal activities, sand mafia in specific which have the complete support of local police. According to the complaints filed, the police have been terrorising the locals to stay mum over the ongoing atrocities.
Police especially in Hakeempet, Polepalli villages are learnt to book the youth who raised their voices against the atrocities under false cases. Locals also revealed that the police have formed into separate teams to target pro-Congress youth and activists.
Rounding it off, the state police you claim themselves to be citizen-friendly are now under bad light snubbing law and order at a toss. While the ruling party proudly claim to have two women as SP and Collector for the district, locals raised concerns over the high command deliberately ignoring the atrocities.
