First look of Lal Singh Chadda, the film Amir Khan announced on his 54th birthday was released on Monday to raving reviews. People were blown away by the look of ‘perfectionist’ Amir Khan in this otherwise simple poster. Lal Singh Chadda is remake of the cult Hollywood classic of the nineties, Forrest Gump. The 1994 comedy-drama was the film adaptation of the book – Forrest Gump, published in 1986. Amir Khan, took to Twitter and Instagram to share the first look, which is being jointly bankrolled by Viacom 18 Productions and Amir Khan Productions. “Sat Sri Akaal Ji, Mein Laal…Laal Singh Chadda”, he captioned the poster, which went viral and started trending across social media platforms.
While Advait Chandan who impressed the audience with Secret Superstar is directing Lal Singh Chadda, writer Atul Kulkarini is working around the script to suit the sensibilities of Indian audience. As usual, Amir Khan got into the skin of the character and reportedly lost 20 kgs for playing the younger version of the character. Earlier, his photos from the shoot location were leaked, where he was seen sporting a liliac turban, high-waist trousers and brown sneakers. A look of Kareena Kapoor, the leading lady of the film also surfaced on Instagram, revealing to the audience that she will be acting without make-up for most scenes. While the expectations hit the roof with the first look, his fans are already predicting a 300crore business. It would be interesting to see how Amir Khan would fare, considering Tom Hanks won hearts and accolades for his iconic performance as Forrest Gump in the original.
