Former minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao who called on a 24 hours relay hunger strike under the name ‘Save AP..Save Amaravati’ is gaining the support of the Amaravati farmers. Activists from various welfare associations and public groups have conveyed support to the hunger strike along with the farmers who have been protesting against the ‘three capital’ proposal from the past 13 days. Speaking from the protest, Devineni stated that his fight will not end until the Jagan-led government rolls out a cleat statement over Amaravati as the capital of AP.
On this note, Devineni lashed out on the government for turning a blind eye on intensifying protests. “Constituting various committees is a trail to sidetrack the agitations but we will not yield to these tricks,” he added. Devineni breathed fire on Jagan and ministers that they are playing around with the sentiments and trust of thousands of farmers.
