In what can be stated as the twist in the tale of the legal battle between the APSEC and state government on the issue of the colour of ration distribution vehicles in the state, the former has withdrawn the orders to change the colour of the ration door delivery vehicles.
While the petition was disposed off, the decision came as a surprise to the political analysts. It can be noted that the same SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar, after inspecting two vehicles issued an order to change the colour of the vehicle as the colour scheme of the vehicles was similar to the flag colours of the YSRCP led state government.
Challenging the orders given by the SEC, YSRCP approached the High Court on this and sought to direct the Election Commissioner not to obstruct the door-to-door ration scheme in rural areas. The HC which heard the arguments suspended the SEC’s order.
After hearing the arguments the court, which suspended those orders and gave interim orders till March 15 has withdrawn the orders.
