Despite the state registering less number of COVID-19 infections from the past few days, with the second wave lurking in Telangana Health Department has ramped up taking several measures and raising awareness programs for the general public to continue to take precautions for the next 45 days.
Amidst which, the second wave alarm rang at the political leaders, activists and supporters of various political parties who were literally on roads as part of GHMC poll campaigning for the last two weeks.
The Telangana Health Department on Wednesday has instructed all those who participated in the GHMC elections to be in isolation for one week and not to venture outside unless its an emergency.
Advisories were issued to go get tested in case they developed related symptoms. Addressing the media on Wednesday, director of Public Health Dr G Srinivasa Rao predicted the rise in cases days after the campaigning. Further, he stated that all required measures and steps to contain Covid spread.
