While the second wave in the country is hitting hard with increasing corona cases with each passing day, situations in Telangana seems to grip out of hands.
Going by the official numbers released by the state health authorities, the cases spiked drastically. In the last 24 hours, 684 tested positive while 56,122 people underwent corona tests.
It what turned a big concern to the officials, 184 out of the latest cases are from Hyderabad alone. It can be noted that this is the first time the city registered high numbers ever since the lockdown broke out. Further, the fatality rate as well drastically increased while the city noted three corona deaths.
The number of corona cases in Telangana has reached 3,07,899 so far and a total of 1,697 succumbed to the novel coronavirus. There are currently 4,965 active cases in the state. Meanwhile, the Telangana government has already put the state on high alert amidst the second wave alerts.
Wearing masks was made mandatory and the police officials are formed into special teams to bring awareness among the people. The government also called off offline classes for all the students except for medical institutions.
