Senior journalist and former editorial director of ‘Sakshi’ media house K Ramachandra Murthy on Tuesday took the state political circles to shock. Making the speculations from the past few days true, KR Murthy put down his papers for the role of advisor in the CMO.
According to the information from highly placed sources, the senior journalist who is known to play a crucial role in Jagan’s victory via Sakshi put forth his decision a while ago which was made official on Tuesday.
While the official reason on papers state that he doesn’t want to hold a position just for namesake, sources close to Murthy revealed that despite holding a crucial positive he isn’t getting access to meetings convened by the chief minister to discuss issues of public policy.
In his resignation, Murthy also stated that he has been finding it hard to operate from Vijayawada when his family is in Hyderabad. In his career as a journalist, KR Murthy worked as Editor-in-Chief for Udayam, Vartha and Andhra Jyoti. Murthy also worked for Hyderabad Media House, HMTV, and Hans India. He then rendered his services as Editorial Director for Sakshi Media Group.
After YSRCP came to power K Ramachandra Murthy was appointed as the public policy advisor by CM Jagan. While there are a total of 33 advisors working for CMO, the state government also provided cabinet cadre for a few of them.
