Seven Textile Parks to be set up under PM MITRA; includes Telangana!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the establishment of seven mega textile parks…including Telangana under PM MITRA (PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel).The other states are Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh!

PM Modi elaborating on PM MITRA explains that Mega Textile parks would be set up adhering to 5F (Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign) vision boosting the textile industry of the country. He expressed his happiness while making the announcement stating that PM MITRA Mega Textile parks would be set up to provide state of the art technology to the textile industry.
According to him, these parks shall attract massive investments and expected to generate lakhs of jobs and India ultimately positions herself as the Global destination for quality textiles. According to him, the establishment of these parks are great examples of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Make for the World’.
The Textile Ministry has announced that under the PLI, already there was an investment of about Rs.1,536 crores from the ministry. As part of ‘Atma NIrbhar Abhiyaan’, the Government of India has initiated PLI schemes (Productivity Linked Incentives) to enable the Indian manufacturers to compete with global players, in attracting investments, increasing exports and to ensure that India moves on to the global supply chain markets.
