Cast: Naga Chaitanya, Anu Emmanuel, Ramyakrishna, Naresh, Vennela Kishore, Prudhvi, and others
Release date: 13th September 2018
After failed to prove himself as an action hero, Naga Chaitanya tried his luck in a family drama ‘Shailaja Reddy’ Alludu which revolves around a guy and egoistic Shailaja Reddy (Ramyakrishna) and her daughter (Anu Emmanuel) who is equally egoistic. A lot being said about the move before the release says it would be on the lines of Nagarjuna’s ‘Allari Alludu’. Let’s see if the movie really stands up.
Amid huge expectations, Naga Chaitanya’s ‘Shailaja Reddy Alludu’ has hit the screens finally. Director Maruthi who has a good knack of extracting the comedy sadly couldn’t repeat his magic. ‘Shailaja Reddy Alludu’ falls flat in all departments leaving it just an average flick. Though there’s a lot in the movie to develop it into a hit movie, the lack of proper characterization of each character, and stale comedy makes the movie a tedious film to watch.
On the whole, with an average first half, and a below second half, ‘Shailaja Reddy Alludu’ is surely not a fun-filled ride as promoted earlier.
