Biopics ought to give challenges on another level to the director and his team when it comes to casting. And what if the film is based on one of the page-turners in film and political spectrums? To the point, the team of ‘Thalaivi’, the biopic of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa seems to have taken no qualms over the cast which was evident with the first look of Kangana Ranaut as Jayalalithaa. Days after she impressed the fans, the team unveiled the first look of actor Arvind Swami who portrayed the character of late film icon and Tamil Nadu chief minister MG Ramachandran.
On the occasion of MGR’s birth anniversary, the team has released the first look of Arvind Swami on Friday which left the fans spellbound. MGR, a mentor figure to Jayalalithaa, was an actor-turned-politician who formed the political party AIADMK which was later presided over by Jayalalithaa, the most dedicated disciple of MGR. He also happens to be the most influential fashion icons of the 20th century. Taking to his official Twitter account, Arvind Swami shared his look with a note that teaser will be followed by. On the other hand, fans started comparing the look with the original photos of MGR.
Helmed by Vijay and bankrolled by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shaailesh R Singh, ‘Thalaivi’ will hit theatres in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on June 26, 2020.
