Amaravati: The recent meeting and the affinity between the leaders have sent a signal that the Chief Ministers of the Telugu states are on good terms now. It is a known fact that the leaders, Jagan and KCR had agreed upon the conditions that they would work for the mutual benefits of the two states. On the note, Jagan has taken to an official letter to KCR for increasing the daily supply of coal from Singareni coal mines to Andhra Pradesh. Intending to improve the power generation and supply in the state, the state government has sought the support of the neighbouring state to supply nine rakes a day from the Singareni coal mines, which was four rakes previously.
The Chief Minister’s office has stated that a few unplanned incidents like the accident in Bharatpur mines in Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL), the 15 days strike and heavy rainfall have adversely affected the coal supplies to APGENCO state thermal stations. The CMO has also written to the Union Coal Minister Prahlad Joshi regarding the same. In his letter, Jagan has also stated that APGENCO officials are working in close coordination with officers of MCL, SCCL and railway authorities to improve the coal supplies.
