The health of legendary singer Balasubrahmanyam who is undergoing treatment in MGM Healthcare turned extremely critical on Thursday, stated the hospital authorities in a recent health bulletin. The celebrity singer who recently recovered from coronavirus was shifted to maximum life support after his condition has deteriorated further.
“Thiru SP Balasubrahmanyam, who had been admitted at MGM Healthcare on August 5, remains on ECMO and other life support measures. His condition in the last 24 hours has deteriorated further, warranting maximal life support and he is extremely critical. The team of experts at MGM Healthcare are closely monitoring his health condition,” read the full statement.
The news came as shock to family and nationwide fans who heaved a sigh of relief after the star singer started making steady progress towards getting better. Fondly called as Balu, the singer has been in hospital since August 5 after testing positive for COVID-19. The same day the singer posted a video on his social media saying he was perfectly alright.
He was later shifted on life support and moved to the Intensive Care Unit after his health deteriorated for the first time on August 13th. A multi-disciplinary team, comprising specialists from internal medicine, pulmonology and infectious diseases continued to take care of him.
