The country’s apex court has expressed impatience with the Telangana government. Inflamed over violations of regulations in the recruitment of teacher posts. It was outraged at the non-payment of a fine of Rs 2.50 lakh previously imposed against the state government.
The Supreme Court has become serious about the government’s non-compliance with court orders. On the other hand, the government’s lawyer explained. He said the petition was pending and hence the fine had not been paid. The tribunal gave the government another 2 weeks to pay the fine in this order.
This time the government was warned to pay a fine, otherwise, the court would take up the contempt process. The Supreme Court has indicated that reservations everywhere must be subject to the Constitution.
What actually happened? What is a dispute?
The government has decided to allot all teacher posts in the agency areas in the joint state to STs. Also made appointments. A petition was filed in the Supreme Court challenging this. The trial court overturned the government’s decision. As there were two states that had done this, the court imposed a fine of Rs 2.5 lakh on both AP and Telangana. However, the AP government paid the money, but the KCR government did not. The court, which recently heard the case, granted a two-week deadline.
