T-Civic Polls: Dedicated committee to finalise candidates Surpassing all the hurdles, Telangana state is finally all set for the municipal elections which are going to be held on January 22nd in the coming year. While 120 municipalities and 10 corporations are going for polls, the ruling TRS party basking in the victory of the recent Lok Sabha elections has no qualms to take any chance. With the announcement of the election schedule, the number of visitors to Pragati Bhavan drastically increased. It is to the known knowledge that Chief Minister KCR has given all the poll responsibilities to his son and minister KTR. But, sources close to KTR stated that neither son nor the father has any time left for talking with all the hopeful candidates after which KTR’s team came up with an interesting idea.
Pragati Bhavan sources revealed that KTR and his team have decided to constitute a three-member committee who will look into all the interested candidates who approached KTR office. The committee will meet with the candidates and thereby coordinate with the respective district party presidents regarding the eligibility of the candidate. The committee will also collect all the necessary field level information from the people before they recommend the name to KTR and KCR. However, it would be the father-son duo who ultimately decide the candidate that would contest from TRS. Reportedly, the committee would complete the process in stages.
