Hyderabad: Amidst the failed negotiations, agitations and protests, the Telangana government was compelled to extend the Dussehra holidays till October 19. This decision came after Chief Minister KCR’s a review meeting with the RTC officials. The strike has hit its eighth day with most 10,000 buses halted at respective deports. Though the government claims to make necessary arrangement to fill the gap, it didn’t come to the rescue of local commuters who depends on public transport. Considering this, the state government has extended the holidays for seven more days. Like never before the holidays this year accumulated to 23 days including Sundays, two Saturdays and Bathukamma holidays. News is that the officials have suggested the schools and colleges should run their organisations even on second Saturdays to cope up with the academics.
