With the assembly elections fast approaching, political developments in Tamil Nadu have been taking interesting turns. Poll heat seems lo hit the state with all political parties moving the pawns holding a roll of crucial meeting over possible alliances.
In the wake of which, politics temperatures in the state began heating up with reports over BJP troubleshooter, Union Minister calling for a meet-up with superstar Rajinikanth who is speculated to launch his political party anytime before the elections.
While the BJP strongman is all set to arrive in Chennai on Saturday, the party’s ally AIADMK convened a crucial meeting to discuss strategies for the elections at its party office. Though no political engagements have yet been announced, Shah is expected to meet prominent BJP state leaders and also lay foundation stones for a slew of government projects.
However, specific reports which speculated the possible meeting with Tamil superstar Rajinikanth has become the biggest talking point now. Political circles are rife with speculations that Amit Shah may urge the actor to join or support the BJP or merge his party, if announced.
On the other hand, Shah is also expected to meet Alagiri, the expelled DMK leader and elder brother of DMK president M.K. Stalin while the latter categorically denied all the rumours. However, sources have it that Amit would break a deal as Alagiri could be made to act as a magnet to bring in all the disgruntled elements from the DMK and embarrass its leadership.
If these rumours are believed to be true, state political analysts opined that it could be a major blow to both AIADMK and DMK especially during the absence of the big Dravidian leaders Karunanidhi and Jayalalithaa, who had dominated the state’s political discourse for a long time
