Taking ‘Operation Aakarsh strengthening its roots in Telugu states’ to the next level, Andhra Pradesh BJP unit called onto a massive ratha yatra to protest against the State government’s alleged negligence in preventing attacks on the temples.
Named as Rama Ratha Yatra, BJP has announced the Yatra which will start from Kapilatheertham in Tirupati to Ramatheertham in Vizianagaram district from February 4th this year. In what seems to be taking a cue on the situations, BJP state unit is contemplating to include national-level leaders in Rama Ratha Yatra, which is expected to cover 13 districts in the State.
Talking over the same, BJP state president Somu Veeraraju stated that the yatra will proceed through the places where vandalisation of temples has occurred. “The issue of non-religious activities in Srisailam, Pithapuram, Antarvedi, Vijayawada, Nellore and other places will also be taken into the public during the yatra,” he added.
The BJP leader also demanded the Jagan-led government to publish a white paper on the assets owned by churches and institutes. BJP’s alliance JanaSena will also participate in the Yatra, confirmed the sources.
