In yet another shock to AP Chief Minister Jagan, TATA Groups resorted to a legal battled against the state government seeking cancellation of the G.O. on their PPAs. Tata Power Subsidiary along with two other solar energy companies have approached the Supreme Court urging the court to transfer the case from High Court.

Unilateral reduction in power tariffs and holding the payments are the main concerns raised by the petitioners. It can be recalled that Jagan after assuming office in July cancelled the Power Purchase Agreements despite constant red flags from the central government with pressure from global companies.
While the power companies have already filed cases in the High Court, the subsidiaries of TATA now filed the transfer petition urging the court to probe into case which was held pending from the past 15 months. The Apex Court said it would hear these cases after the Christmas and New Year holidays.
