The incident of demolition of the YSR statue has become a hot topic in the Guntur district. Police have arrested two TDP activists in connection with the incident in which a statue of YSR was vandalized. TDP leader Arvind Babu held a dharna with activists to protest their arrest. Police attempted to stop Dharna. This created a tense atmosphere for a while.
A scuffle ensued between the TDP ranks as police tried to stop Darna. Arvind was injured in the incident. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment. Arvind’s family members said that his health condition was stable. With this, the party ranks breathed a sigh of relief.
Against this brutality, TDP leaders once again protested in Narasaraopet. Former ministers Jawahar and Kollu Ravindra, former MLAs Jeevi Anjaneyulu, Yerpathineni, and Tenali Sravana Kumar took part in the protest. Speaking on the occasion, they demanded the release of illegally arrested TDP activists. The slogans were against the government.
They also demanded that action be taken against the police who attacked Arvind Babu. TDP leaders have been accused of harassing party workers by filing illegal cases. A protest rally with black flags was held demanding the immediate release of the arrested TDP leaders. Warned that the movement would intensify if not released.
