In a rude shock to former Chief Minister and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, yet another senior leader bid adieus to the party on Thursday. In the wake of TDP high command appointing new committees in the state, former minister Galla Aruna Kumari has resigned from the post of TDP politburo.
While the reasons behind her decision are yet to be known, the letter she shot to the opposition supremo mentioned personal reasons as the reason. However, party reports claimed that Aruna resigned from after the difference with party leaders and TDP chief not considering her suggestions as to the main reason behind her resignation.
The resignation move from the leader’s end added fuel to the rumours that she would soon join the saffron bandwagon. The influential leader who has won four times as MLA from Chandragiri, Chittoor district on Congress ticket, lost in 2004 elections after changing loyalties to TDP. Aruna was later given a chance at the TDP politburo while her son Jayadev won the Guntur MP ticket and won with a solid majority in the 2014 elections.
