Hyderabad: Former Indian skipper Mohammad Azharuddin and his team have recorded a tremendous victory in the presidential elections of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA). In the results declared on Friday, the yesteryear batsman polled 147 votes and won with majority over his opponent Prakash Chand Jain who got 73 votes. Azhar’s panel has K. John Manoj who is now elected as the Vice-President Former Secretary polling 136 votes compared his rival Daljit Singh (87 votes). Naresh Sharma won for the joint secretary’s post while Surinder Kumar Agarwal is now the new treasurer. “I sincerely thank all those who supported me and also my panel members in this election. They have done their job and the onus is on us to implement every promise we made before the election,” he said in a statement post the victory. On this note, Azhar said that improving the cricket and the welfare of the players stands as his main priority.
