Hours after the Election Commission announced Bihar polls schedule BJP president J P Nadda, on Saturday announced a major revamp in the BJP national level cadre. In a major reshuffle, the party replaced senior leaders like Ram Madhav, P Muralidhar Rao, Anil Jain, Saroj Pandey as general secretaries with new faces.
Aimed at combining young people, women, the new appointments were announced by BJP president JP Nadda while several younger leaders like Tajasvi Surya, an MP from Karnataka have been elevated to BJP Yuva Morcha chief. The party also increased the number of national spokespersons to 23 with MP Anil Baluni retaining the position of media in-charge and elevated as chief spokesperson.
Radha Mohan Singh, Mukul Roy, Rekha Verma, Annapurna Devi, Bharti Shiyal, DK Aruna, M Chuba Ao, AP Abdullakutty were appointed national vice presidents in the reshuffle. Dushyant Kumar Gautam, D Purandeswari, CT Ravi and Tarun Chugh were among the new general secretaries appointed. It can be noted that it is for the first time Nadda has made a major tweak ever since taking over as party president from Amit Shah.
