With no signs of curbing the Coronavirus outbreak by April 7th, the target set by the Telangana government, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and CM KCR stated that he is in favour of the lockdown extension decision. Stating that he would soon appeal Prime Minister Modi to extend the lockdown by at least another two or three weeks, KCR in the recent press meeting lauded the central government’s efforts to contain the spread of the novel virus.
“We have no other choice except for the extension of the lockdown. Though both the state and country’s economy is plummeting, at least we could curb the death rate,” averred the Chief Minister of Telangana. He further recommended other states Chief Ministers also to call for the extension in the best interests of the people.
Adding strength to his proposal made, the Chief Minister also cited the study conducted by the Boston Consulting Group which noted that complete lock own was the only solution for India to fight the coronavirus. On this note, KCR breathed fire on people who are spreading panic on social media over the spread of the novel coronavirus.
“The social media has become anti-social. I curse the social media. May it die of coronavirus,” he said. He also expressed his discontentment over two of the renowned news agencies which claimed that he had already announced an extension of the lockdown.
